TETHER, is a movement, sound, and video work created by multidisciplinary artists; Joanna Mattrey (viola), Laurel Snyder (dance/vocals) and Chris Ryan Williams (trumpet). In this collaborative work, we seek to foster empathy, explore the bonds between people, and tap into the minds, bodies, and inner essences of each other to open portals into the surreal.
Our collective practice searches for the translations between sounds and gestures and fuses these mediums to create compositions based on these impulses. Made in collaboration with Laura Sofía Pérez (video editor), TETHER is our first experimental film and we are indebted to the Wild Project for its production support during this strange time.
