“ I wanted to highlight women; period. Ones like myself that walk a bit off the beaten path and color outside the lines – my sisters , mentors, collaborators, inspirators, instigators and friends and with a Downtown state of mind. Highlighting women from all disciplines of the arts to explore new ideas, read out loud, and let the inside animal out. Cultivating a safe environment for expression, risk taking and literary freedom from social restraints.
Whether it be your ferocious or soft power.Where the women always comes out on top.
Bringing together women and those identifying as women all from diverse threads in cultural , societal and educational backgrounds. Where we can meet exciting new women and speak to each other. Where we are free to voice our “lived”experience .
