Wild Culture

Wild Culture is a series of outdoor performances & events occurring every Saturday throughout the Summer. Wild Culture’s purpose is to facilitate cultural sustainability and help support our artists and venue by bringing the East Village neighborhood together to overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic through art and performances.

Throughout the summer Wild Culture will produce downtown artists across music, spoken-word, poetry, dance, and theater & more to our E. 3rd St. block, just outside our venue to help revive, with our neighborhood partners, the East Village, and our city.

This Saturday Wild Culture is proud to present Spring Into Pride fashion show & a musical performance.

Teddy Horangic is a jazz singer taking a year off from college to begin her career in music. She grew up as a nomad living between a sailboat and a converted passenger bus, and began exploring world music through that experience. Her interest is in jazz vocals – specifically scatting – with Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Carmen Mcrae, and Betty Carter being her primary influences.

Guitarist Mark Capon has been a regular performer for many years in New York City and surrounding areas. He received jazz study grants from the National Endowment For The Arts in 1988/1989 to study with guitarists Tal Farlow and Billy Bauer. In 1995/1996 Mark was a Semi Finalist in the Fish Middleton Jazz Scholarship Competition. Mark appeared in the documentaries ‘Sandy Jordan’s World Of Jazz And Cabaret’.

All performances occur entirely outdoors. Please use the ticket link to purchase advance tickets. All donations directly support our #Savewildproject GoFundMe campaign which helps wild project overcome the shuttering of our 89-seat theater due to Covid-19. Wild Culture continues to follow CDC guidelines, seating is 6 ft apart, sanitizing stations and free masks will be available and on-hand. Seating is limited, please purchase advance tickets to secure a seat. Patrons are welcome to attend passing by, we ask all to practice social distance.
