From August 18-20, Poetic Theater Productions will present Conscious Language: three days of workshops, conversation and performance curated by muMs (HBO’s “Oz”) on how poets and theater makers can use their words to create a socially conscious theater of language. Featuring a workshop for poets on turning poetry into theater culminating in performance, a panel on the importance of the spoken word featuring leaders in the hip hop theater community, and featured performances by some of the city’s finest spoken word poets.
