C-LS’s A Future Western explores classic western themes such as power, love, redemption, good versus evil, and life by the gun in order to seek what lays at the core of the instinctual self. In a society where organized authority lacks true power, one is forced to turn a blind eye toward lawless individuals. Without a formal moral construct, how does one determine what is just? How far is man willing to go in order to pursue personal justice? In a future where ones actions are of little consequence, this performance examines the limitations of ones own morality.
C-LS is an interdisciplinary performance art company founded by Lydia Shamoun. Embracing ideas of experimentation and intersection in performance, this New York-based company strives to transcend conventional limitations of performance while unifying mediums.
