In A New York Minute

IN A NEW YORK MINUTE (NY60) is a monthly film festival that invites filmmakers to delve into this year’s unprecedented global shift by imagining and creating radical theme-based films that are ‘gone’ in 60 SECONDS.

‘In a New York minute’ is an expression that means circumstances are fast-changing, hectic and chaotic like NYC itself. Very quickly, many of us have been forced to rethink our lives. Micro-budget filmmaking is evolving from a filmmaker with a crew of six, to the filmmaker as actor, editor and sound designer using only their iPhone or Android and any video device at their disposal.

NY60 asks filmmaking artists to utilize whatever filmmaking tools at their disposal to compete in our monthly presentation of films that will be presented on our streaming platform.

Here’s what you need to know. Up to 30 films maximum will be chosen. They will be divided into 2-3 screening blocks and be available to the public for online screening. The Audience will be given 2-3 days to view and vote for their favorite film in each screening block. The winner of each screening block will move on to the Final round of competition. In the Finals, the audience will vote for their favorite.
The Final Audience Favorite Award Winner receives $50 USD

This will be a monthly event. Every month a theme will be given to filmmakers.

We will ask the audience to keep in mind of the theme when they vote for their favorites.

THE THEME FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER IS:

Life In A Pandemic

“In A New York Minute’ anything can change/In A New York Minute things can get pretty strange.”
