Sound Stage is a performance initiative that supports the small stage as well as up-and-coming talent. The concert festival is about the communal connection between people and performance at our 89-seat theater in the East Village.

Sound Stage @ wild project, launched in the Summer of 2022. Year one featured comedians, poets, and music artists from around the country including: Comedian CP, Butterfly Black, Mahogany L. Browne, Tonina. The second annual series in 2023 featured Isa Reyes, Olivia K, Courtney, Zamy Ma, The Incredible Dunker-tons, Marla Lou, Joél Leon, Jeanette Berry, and Zaniah.

Gina Fuego

“Gina Fuego” nee Gina Figueroa is a bilingual multifaceted artist from NYC. She has a sensual “soulrock” voice with an eclectic sound and intimate vibe reminiscent of Cory Daye, Chaka Khan, and La Lupe. Daughter of Puerto Rican Civil and Housing Rights activists raised in the Lower East Side of NYC. Since a very young age she performed in political musical theater under the direction of her uncle poet Bimbo Rivas (Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe,Teatro Ambulante, Orpheum Theater) and aunt Margie Ortiz-Rivas co-director of the “Bomba and Plena” Puerto Rican Folkloric dance troupe, “Loisaida Folklorica”. Gina was a lead alto and composer with Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping which garnered them opening for Neil Young’s “Rebel Content Tour” with Promise of the Real. After many musical tours and a few residencies at Joe’s Pub and St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, she went solo. She won a Grammy for Best R & B song as a featured artist and writer on D’angelo and The Vanguard’s “Really Love”.
She played a small racy part as “Laura” opposite Mickey Rourke in the film “Bullet” with Tupac Shakur. Gina Fuego is currently composing and recording for an upcoming project with NYC based talent. She has written, composed, and recorded with and produced by Jimmy Varner (By All Means, Elle Varner, Bobby Debarge Jr.) and Hod David (Maxwell, Jeff Buckley). She co-produced and composed her romantic single “My Love” with Hod David and Artist “LAW” (George Clinton,Planet 12, Amy Winehouse) which was mixed by Producer Gordon “Commissioner” Williams (Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill) Her latest release “My Light” and DIY music video were both considered for a Grammy.

Laura Galindo

LAURA GALINDO A queer, Colombian renaissance woman. Laura was born in Cali, Colombia, raised in South Florida, and resides in Brooklyn. She graduated from NYU with a BFA in Drama in 2019. She is a multi-hyphenated music and theatre artist, working in the creation and performance of both mediums and deeply interested in how they intersect.
She shares her original music all around NYC, hitting venues like The Sultan Room, Mercury Lounge, and Brooklyn Made. She makes all of her recorded music with producer / engineer Greg Tock. In 2021, they released the energetic, alt-pop EP In Front Of Your TV. In 2022 came the intimate double-sider Amateurs. In 2023, her single Maybe In Time was picked up by Spotify editorials and various music publications.
