Mikéah Ernest Jennings Artist-in-Residence program
wild project is proud to introduce its Mikéah Ernest Jennings Artist-in-Residence program to assist independent artists with the necessary resources to further their performance careers.
About the Program
The program will give independent performing artists the necessary tools to develop new projects in the performance-art genre.
wild project recognizes the urgent need for allocating resources to artists working in the performance-art milieu, as this unique form of presentation is vital to New York’s theater culture but these often encounter challenges in locating support.
The program gives artists 2-weeks of free access to our 89-seat theater to rehearse, develop, and perform work-in-progress projects for a live audience. Artists will receive tech and design support from wild project’s in-house tech team, an artist fee, and a portion of box office sales.
Core Mission Statement
The Mikéah Ernest Jennings Artist-in-Residence was designed in alignment with wild project’s core mission statement, and the program goal is to increase equity for performance artists. We strongly encourage the work of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ performers to open doors for historically underrepresented artist communities.
Apply to the Program
Mikéah Ernest Jennings Artist-in-Residence projects will be considered on an ongoing basis.
